Julie Huguet (EM.25): pioneer of the French Tech and architect of responsible innovation

Julie Huguet (EM.25), a Savoyard entrepreneur, is a rising figure in the start-up ecosystem in France. After co-founding Coworkees, an innovative platform connecting freelancers and companies, she made her mark in the French Tech ecosystem by presiding over French Tech Alpes. In September 2024, she became the head of the French Tech Mission, a key public organization supporting the growth of French start-ups.
Julie Huguet, who is from Savoie, has always felt a strong connection to her homeland. After graduating from EM Lyon in 2005, she began her career in the watchmaking industry as the right-hand person to the CEO of Franck Muller, where she gained valuable experience in management and strategy. However, it is in entrepreneurship that she stands out. In 2015, she co-founded Coworkees in Annecy, a platform aimed at connecting freelancers with companies, anticipating the rise of the freelance economy. The startup has been very successful, raising one million euros before being acquired in 2021 by Freelance.com, a leading group in the field of services for freelancers. This acquisition represents a significant milestone in its entrepreneurial journey.
At the same time as this entrepreneurial adventure, Julie Huguet has been active in the regional ecosystem. She served as the president of French Tech Alpes until June 2023, where she worked to develop the digital sector in the region. Thanks to her involvement, she has helped to increase the visibility and support for local start-ups, while also advancing digitalization projects in the public and private sectors.
Alongside her professional activities, Julie Huguet has been pursuing an Executive Master of Science in Change Leadership at HEC Paris, from which she is expected to graduate in 2025. This program, focused on leadership in a constantly evolving world, complements her profile as an entrepreneur and strategic leader.
In September 2024, Julie Huguet made a major career move by being appointed as the director of the French Tech Mission, a public administration created in 2013. Her role is to support the growth of French start-ups, especially in the fields of disruptive technologies such as deeptech, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
Her priorities are clear: to strengthen the French ecosystem by promoting the excellence of start-ups, especially in terms of inclusion, gender equality, and ecological transition. These values are at the heart of her vision for a responsible and high-performing technological sector. Julie Huguet aims to encourage start-ups to integrate these issues into their strategy, especially when interacting with clients and investors who are increasingly attentive to the sustainability and social impact of their projects.
Julie Huguet, with her successful career as an entrepreneur and her ambitions for the future of the French Tech, represents a new generation of leaders who can merge innovation, leadership, and social responsibility. She continues to work towards a more inclusive and future-oriented technological France.
