At the crossroads of strategy, innovation and international business, Stina strengthened an already impressive journey by joining the HEC Paris MBA as a recipient of the prestigious Excellence Scholarship granted by the HEC Foundation. There, she quickly stood out as one of the most dynamic and inspiring members of her cohort.

Entrepreneurship is in the DNA of Danish-born Stina Moldrup. “I’ve always been drawn to projects that blend innovation, impact, and purpose,” she shares. Her remarkable career speaks for itself. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Communication in German from Aarhus University, Stina joined in 2019 IWT, a Danish company specializing in the design, manufacture, and supply of industrial wood treatment plants. There, she has co-founded Biobiowood—a breakthrough in bio-based wood technology offering a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood. “Our goal was to support responsible construction by providing a CO2-neutral, cost-effective solution that upholds human rights and responsible sourcing.” Stina led the company’s global go-to-market strategy, building the brand from the ground up while working closely with clients across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America. Her expertise also brought her to the global stage as a keynote speaker on innovation, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable tech solutions.

After five intense years, Stina decided to broaden her horizons. “I wanted to step back, explore other sectors, and challenge my thinking,” she explains. The HEC Paris MBA quickly stood out: “Its academic excellence, international reach, and emphasis on responsible leadership made it the clear choice. The 16-month format gave me the space to reflect, pivot, and gain hands-on experience.” The program’s global diversity was another key draw: “HEC brings together people from all over the world—it’s a unique place to learn, connect, and grow.” Stina was also awarded the HEC Excellence Scholarship from the HEC Foundation, which proved pivotal. “It made the MBA financially viable but also gave me a sense of purpose. Being part of the Excellence Scholars community inspired me to contribute fully. It enabled me to focus on academics, spend a semester at Georgetown University, and immerse myself in experiences beyond the classroom. I’m truly grateful for the support of the HEC Foundation. One day, I would be proud to give back, as a donor myself.”

True to form, Stina made the most of her time at HEC. She served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Healthcare Club and co-founded the school’s first Family Business Club. On top of that, she was class representative of her cohort, co-coordinator of the MBA Tournament 2024, and member of TEC, HEC’s executive leadership program. She also dove into courses on AI, statistics, finance, and leadership—particularly one led by MBA Dean Brad Harris that reshaped her thinking on influence, decision-making, and team dynamics. More than anything, Stina valued the cultural diversity, deep friendships, and problem-solving collaborations with classmates. “The HEC Paris MBA exceeded every expectation. It has helped me grow on both a personal and professional level and build a powerful international network.”

Looking ahead, Stina aims to continue working at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and global business. “I’m especially interested in companies driving AI and digital transformation in areas like healthcare, sustainability, and science-based innovation.” At the same time, she is laying the groundwork to eventually launch her own company. “Whether I’m building a venture, leading a team, or driving a strategic initiative, HEC has taught me that leadership is about setting a clear direction, building trust, and creating the conditions for people and ideas to thrive. That’s the mindset I carry into the future.”
